Of Threads and Knots

Posted by Edil at 9:33 PM 0 comments
Lately I've been busy with my new hobby -- Making friendship bracelets! I'm really into arts and crafts and I really like handmade crafts. I was actually browsing on Tumblr and I saw a photo post of these colorful friendship bracelets. That reminded me of the time back in high school when I'd spend my free time making friendship bracelets. I even bought this round thingy called Kumihimo disk (just learned the name a few days ago). It's used to make friendship bracelets as well.

Well, I couldn't find the Kumihimo anymore so I just searched on awesome Google for tutorials and patterns. I came across this site. They have tutorials of the basic knots, how-to's, and great collection of patterns you can choose from! I was really excited when I see some really good patterns. So after a day or two, I bought DMC threads and started making friendship bracelets!

Here are just the first two I made. I have to buy more threads. I already chose different patterns I'd love to make into friendship bracelets. Just comment below if you like to see some tutorials. I'll probably make one. :)

SkinWhite and Nuffnang bring you Snow White and the Huntsman

This summer is quite memorable because it's the first time I got sunburned skin and I went to such a nice and beautiful place! I put a lot of sunscreen but no effect for me. I  think it was two days that I suffer from the pain and sting of the skin. After two agonizing days, the skin started to peel and I got addicted peeling the burnt skin. haha

Sun-kissed skin
I have a naturally fair complexion and I wanted to get my old skin back. Good thing SkinWhite can do the job for me! I've been using SkinWhite for a while now because I like how it turns my skin to a beautiful blush white skin that the bf can't resist! SkinWhite has SYNCHROWHITE ACTION that works in FOUR ways all at the same time:
WHITENS the skin’s surface
REDUCES formation of new dark pigments at its source
NOURISHES skin with Vitamins
PROTECTS skin against toxins and UV rays

Chicken Pesto Pasta

Posted by Edil at 5:26 PM 4 comments
I feel happy writing this post. It's my first time to post about how I love not only eating (my faves here!) but also cooking. Just recently, I'm always the one who cooks our lunch. My father is a really good cook. I hope I inherited the same trait when it comes to cooking. : )

Just this month, the bf and I celebrated our 6th anniversary. For our post celebration, I decided to cook Chicken Pesto Pasta. I first tried the recipe with my aunt and cousin and it turned out great. I want to share with you guys the recipe. It's really simple and I know even a ten-year-old can cook this (with supervision! ).

Ingredients:
1 (16 ounce) package penne pasta
    2 tablespoons butter
    2 tablespoons olive oil
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into thin strips
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 1/4 cups heavy cream
    1/4 cup pesto
    3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:
     1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until aldente; drain.
     2. Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Saute chicken and garlic until chicken is almost cooked. Reduce heat and stir in salt, pepper, cream, pesto and Parmesan cheese. Cook until chicken is no longer pink inside. Stir in cooked pasta.

Recipe from allrecipes.com

Instead of penne I used the regular spaghetti pasta. We also tried fetuccine before but the taste is better when we used the regular spaghetti pasta. Also for the pesto, I used the one you can buy on sachets or small packs. The one I used if I'm not mistaken is the Knorr Pesto Sauce Mix or maybe it was McCormick's. Gah, I can't remember. Anyway, one pack is good for 200g pasta so I used two for the 16oz (usually that's the 500g pasta). Even one pack is enough. Here's a photo of my version of Chicken Pesto Pasta:

Yummy! Hopefully this wouldn't be the first and last I'll post about cooking and recipes. I really want to learn how to cook, not only pasta recipes but also main dish recipes.
